The Secret To Lasting Physical Change

"The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new. " | Socrates

One of the greatest most challenging journeys you'll ever go on is seeing what your body can do. Perhaps you are in shape, totally out of shape, or merely hoping to lose some weight. Nonetheless, developing a body that you can be proud, one that is healthy, and allows you to really adore every last piece of it actually is an amazing journey to travel down.

So what's the secret to making a lasting change with your body?

Consistency and commitment.

There's nothing else like coming to the table each day and giving it your best shot. Your best effort must be yours and yours alone. Don't start comparing your journey to other journeys or else you will become unmotivated and daunted by the task at hand. Instead, understand that you are contesting with yourself and yourself alone. Will there be times on your journey where you try and fail? Yes, many times. But each time you do, you need to come back with a commitment to achieving something that you strongly desire. Consistency will keep you in the game and on the field every day. Without it, you may suffer the the inevitable fact of many new years resolutioners who give up each and every single year on making the body of their dreams because they are missing the power to keep on coming back repeatedly timeand again.

Commitment also is evoked, though not the commitment you're likely thinking of in this case. In our world, we are fed this concept that everything must occur at the moment and if it does not actually occur now, it isn't worthwhile. Your body is going to really change throughoutthe years, so why don't you try and make a lifetime dedication to remaining healthy? Is that a marketable and sellable idea? Not particularly. But is it something that could really change the course of your life? Definitely.

When you make a commitment to keeping your body healthy all throughout your entire life, you will eventually reach whatever goal you wish. It is all about seeing the big picture than merely the few months in front of you till summer. It's about developing something that you truly can be pleased with forever. For me, that concept changed my life as I was able to eventually hit my fitness goals after 12 years of struggling with my body image and food issues. But as soon as I changed my world view of what I was attempting to achieve, everything I had wished for came to me. So try it on for size and see if it might work for you. Make a lifetime and relentless commitment to staying healthy and watch how much your body will change in the short term too.

Bring some commitment and consistency to the table, in all sides of your life, and things will change significantly.
